@omarg @mikechapman I've never cursed at him, and really don't curse at all on Twitter. Interesting because he blocks LOTS of progressives.

@MeanRachel I find that weird. That's really weird that anything public is blocked.

@omarg follow back is one thing. Block is, to me, a more personal way of saying "I specifically don't want to hear from you."

@MeanRachel @misohungry Not necessarily. I sometimes block for other reasons including not wanting someone to see my Tweets easily.

@omarg Guess it depends on who pays for @GovernorPerry's cell phone & whether he's tweeting from govt. computers.

@MeanRachel Not sure on that. I know he Tweets primarily from his BlackBerry and that his campaign staff all use their own devices.

@omarg it's basically an online act of taking a letter I might have written him & immediately putting it in the paper shredder.

@MeanRachel If I tweet from my Statesman computer, that doesn't make my Twitter acct. Property of the Statesman, but I take your point.

@MeanRachel Hmm... Doesn't that just make it hard for you to find his tweets? Can't he still read yours easily? Does he still see the @?

@omarg Does blocking someone also prevent their tweets to you or their RTs from showing up in your stream?

@MisoHungry he would not see the @. I can see when people RT him (reporters usually).

@omarg only @governorperry blocks me which, as we know, is his own personal account.

@MisoHungry Yes. You're no longer following them and won't see their @replies. Of course a Tweetdeck search/column is an easy way around.

@MeanRachel @omarg staffers vet letters & phone calls. If Perry manages own Twitter acct, blocking subs for traditional layers.
